INTRODUCTION TO HEALTHCARE TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING (CR. 3)
Pre-requisites: C+ (B preferred) in Expository Writing; documented advanced fluency in English and non-English language; documented study of advanced grammar and composition (300 level or higher) in non-English language. Each language would need a minimum of two students to participate.
Students will explore the theoretical and practical aspects of the translation process. Lectures and other instructional material will be in English, but students do assignments that require them to work in their non-English language. Students will also engage in peer review activities and get an overview of the US healthcare system.
Registration is by special permission only. If you are interested in registering, please email Hank Dallmann, the professor of the course, at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate which non-English language you would like to take the class in and detail your prior language experience.
